Mark R. Hinkle is a technology executive with a long and impressive career in the tech industry. With over 25 years of experience, he has made significant contributions to the growth and development of numerous companies, earning him a reputation as a visionary leader and skilled strategist.

Hinkle’s journey in the tech industry began in the mid-1990s when he took his first technical job at a national ISP, eventually he ended up as the Director of Technical Support of MindSpring Enterprises.  He led initiatives that earned MindSpring numerous awards including J.D. Power and Associates’ highest ranking in overall customer satisfaction, PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice and PC World’s Best ISP; all cited technical support as a key differentiator

Hinkle continued to build his career as a technology executive, serving in various executive roles at companies such as Zenoss, Cloud.com, The Linux Foundation, and Citrix Systems. He also served as the CEO TriggerMesh, a company he co-founded, that was backed by Index Ventures and Cisco.

Throughout his career, Hinkle has been a champion of open source software, recognizing the power and potential of community-driven development. He has lead developer relations for companies in numerous projects including Apache CloudStack, Xen, Node.js, OpenStack, and many others. 

In addition to his impressive career in the tech industry, Hinkle is also a prolific writer and speaker. He has authored numerous articles on open source software and technical  has spoken at numerous conferences and events around the world, sharing his expertise and insights on topics such as cloud computing, virtualization, and open source software.
