Triangle Women in STEM AIOS Workshop
In partnership with Triangle Women in STEM (TriWiSTEM), Peripety Labs delivered a transformative half-day AIOS (AI Operating System) workshop that successfully equipped over 100 highly educated women scientists and technologists with practical AI skills. This initiative not only generated revenue for the organization through tiered ticket pricing ($15-$50) but also addressed a critical skill gap in the rapidly evolving AI landscape, helping accomplished professionals translate their scientific expertise into the age of artificial intelligence.
TriWiSTEM’s mission is to create an integrated ecosystem to recruit, engage, and advance women in STEM in their career, educational, and personal pursuits. As a volunteer organization representing a partnership between Triangle industry, universities, nonprofits, and government, TriWiSTEM works to establish North Carolina’s Research Triangle region as the preeminent destination for women in STEM. The AIOS workshop directly advanced this mission by providing cutting-edge AI training that empowered participants to stay competitive in their fields.
The Peripety Labs team designed the workshop with a “show, don’t just tell” approach, ensuring that every concept was immediately applicable to participants’ professional lives. The structure balanced technical depth with accessibility, recognizing that while attendees were brilliant scientists, they needed AI concepts explained without assuming computer science backgrounds.
